Purpose of this position:
Filing tax suits, judgments and all pleadings for delinquent tax collections.

Essential Functions:

1. Facilitate all aspects of lawsuit production, including pleadings, e-filings of pleadings, citations, correspondence and other documents.

2. Review and analyze title reports.

3. After a suit is filed, research appraisal records, notes, maps associated with tax accounts to locate any accounts related to tax account.

4. Conduct address research for parties to lawsuits.

5. Monitor and manage progress of lawsuits, including service verification, reissuance of citations, status for trial, dismissals/nonsuits and judgment submission.

6. Perform procedures and processes for docket and trial preparation.

7. Provide assistant to attorney for docket and trial preparation, as well as attend and assist attorney in court.

8. Code and maintain delinquent tax collection software system with lawsuit progress and status.

9. Communicate and work with court staff as needed.

10. Communicate and work with tax office staff as needed.

11. Review and answer taxpayer/litigation telephone calls and correspondence and provide taxpayer assistance, with attorney oversight.

12. Process tax payments in ACT (DTAX system). Calculate and set-up partial payment agreements.

13. Assist with special projects.

14. All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
1. Periods of sitting, walking and standing doing office work and driving to court.
2. Position requires working primarily out of the Firm’s Waco Office.
3. Possibly lifting objects weighing up to 15 lbs.

Non-Essential Functions:
1. Microsoft Word
2. 10 Key Calculator
3. Must be a team player and well organized; detailed oriented and self-starter
4. Professional with others
5. Knowledge of Texas property tax, appraisal districts and real estate-title work
6. Experience using Oracle-based system

Supervisory responsibilities and independent discretion:
1. Reports to Litigation Supervisor & Managing Attorney
