Qualifications checks and licences: Mandatory NDIS Worker Screening Check. Full COVID vaccination. Desirable • Food Handling Certificate. Knowledge and understanding of the special dietary requirement of older people. Key Selection Criteria Essential Ability to work as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to adjust to changing needs, prioritize and effectively manage time. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of older people and people with disabilities. Understanding of issues related to OH&S, food hygiene, infection control, manual handling, and hazard identification. Responsibilities/Duties Quality Service • Follow directives in accordance to Food Safety Plan Ensure delivery of quality meals and fluids to residents. Confidentiality is maintained at all times. Undertake food preparation, plating and serving of food as directed by the Manager. Position Description- Food Services Assistant Care without Compromise Reviewed September 2023 Complete Tasks associated with the Food Safety Plan. Perform cleaning and other duties as per the cleaning schedule and as directed. Prepare and provide nutritious meals, snacks, and fluids for residents. Cleaning of all catering related tableware and cutlery. Ensure the dining room is prepared for resident meals including setting and clearing the table, washing, drying, and putting away cutlery and crockery, replenishing stock items as directed, maintaining the kitchen equipment and meal distribution. Minimize and report breakages and replacement crockery and cutlery. Ensure adequate stock items are available at all times. Maintain resident pantries with stock items. Observe and report changes in resident’s behaviors or physical condition. Follow directive of House Team Leader. Reporting and Documentation Report to the relevant supervisor on any changes in resident behavior, condition or care needs that are observed. Log any maintenance concerns or request in a timely and accurate manner. Communication • Communicate openly and actively participate in problem solving as required. Compliance • Operate in accordance with legislative and quality standards. Comply with resident’s dietary needs. Follow directive from the Nutritional & Hydrational assessments. Skills and competencies Remain aware of relevant legislative standards and guidelines. Participate in meetings and in-service training sessions. Pursue ongoing development and contribute to continuous improvement. Work Health Safety Comply with the OHS Act 2004 Take reasonable care to ensure your own safety, not place others at risk by any act or omission, follow safe work practices and procedures, use and care for equipment as instructed, not wilfully and recklessly interfere with safety equipment, report hazards and injuries, and cooperate with Mayflower to meet OHS obligations.
