Job Description The Division Controller - Sugar will be responsible for accounting, reporting, and enforcement of internal controls for the sugar operations. The role involves preparing financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system, preparing general ledger entries, and reconciling accounts. The controller will review accruing expenses, analyze estimates versus actuals, and analyze any variations. They will also review and enforce accounting procedures, answer accounting and financial questions, and provide accounting support by reviewing financial information and converting data to the general ledger system. The controller will be responsible for reconciling all nominal/client account balance sheets and providing reconciling schedules. They will review the weekly borrowing base report to the company’s credit facility and analyze each financed category to ensure there are no breaches to the company’s credit agreement. The controller will prepare and analyze all weekly/month-end closing adjustments, reconcile them to the general ledger and to the management P&L report, and assist with financial statement/collateral audit requests. Additionally, the controller will reconcile the futures account and liaise with the valuation team on entering any missing items. They will work with other team members in keeping intercompany accounts reconciled and manage onsite and remote teams encompassing all accounting functions, including Treasury, Inventory Controls, AP, AR, and general accounting. The controller will also assist in other ad hoc tasks assigned by management to group companies. Requirements * Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, Masters Degree and or CPA designation preferred * Advanced Excel Skills are recommended. * Solid experience in accounting systems common in the commodities trading industry * 7+ years of experience in commodities trading companies, preferably public * Demonstrated ability to lead a team and a documented progression in his or her professional career * Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish * Reporting Skills in accordance with IFRS rules & regulations, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Attention to Detail Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * Vision care Schedule: * Monday to Friday Supplemental pay types: * Bonus pay Education: * Bachelor's Degree (preferred) Experience: * Accounting: 3 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
