Our client is looking for a seasoned Director of Finance to join their growing and dynamic team, to lead their financial department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding the company's financial strategy, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and overseeing all financial operations. This role involves managing the finance team, developing financial models, forecasting future financial scenarios, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in budgeting, financial reporting, tax planning, and investment management. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with other departments to drive the company's financial success. The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing complex financial information, identifying trends, and making recommendations to optimize financial performance. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and growth of the company, making strategic decisions that affect the overall direction of the organization. Responsibilities Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals. Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. Work closely with the management team to offer strategic financial insights and advice. Lead the finance team, providing direction and development opportunities. Oversee tax planning and compliance activities. Conduct risk management by analyzing the organization's liabilities and investments. Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks. Implement robust financial systems and processes to support the growth of the company. Negotiate with banks and other financial institutions. Coordinate year-end work with a CPA firm. Develop financial models and analyze data to support business initiatives and project evaluations. Monitor and manage the company's cash flow. Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives. Ensure accurate and timely financial and regulatory reporting. Advise on long-term business and financial planning. Establish and develop relationships with senior management and external partners and stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred. Experience in the commercial real estate development and/or construction industry. Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior financial managerial position. Strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations. Professional qualification such as CFA or similar will be considered a plus. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in financial management software. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
