JOB SUMMARY

The Analyst, Continuous Improvement and Logistics will support the Manager, Logistics and Supply Chain Optimization by identifying continuous improvement and optimization opportunities, performing analysis and research to determine the impact and level of effort required for implementation of projects, implementation of projects that have been prioritized and the tracking of project results. Additionally, this role will support the Manager, Logistics and Supply Chain Optimization with tracking the performance of the outbound carrier and inbound carrier against key performance indicators (KPI’s), reviewing delivery performance and quality information to identify/recommend areas for improvement, recommending enhancements and tracking results with logistics partners and PDC teams, collaborating and communicating with internal stakeholders and suppliers as needed, and occasionally supporting customer interaction and issue resolution with carriers and dealers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reliable, consistent, on-site attendance is a requirement. This position requires you to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the business; including attending and participating in local and remote meetings and presentations, as required.
  • Identifies improvement and innovation opportunities as part of our GST Production System and Lean Journey. Partners with internal (PDC Operations, Parts Supply, Parts Support, Controls, Information Technology) and external (logistics partners, Toyota Motors North America, WMS and ERP partners) stakeholders to develop and implement process changes and track results.
  • Develops, maintains, and improves reports that summarize the logistics network performance, and operational outcomes. Be able to query, mine data/information, analyze, format and communicate effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to assess and vet project ideas for estimated impact and effort, making recommendations for project prioritization and presenting to the steering committee or PDC leadership teams, execution and implementation of prioritized projects
  • Ensures KPIs, systems and controls are in place to measure, monitor and drive performance excellence.
  • Validates the integrity and accuracy of data provided by inbound and outbound vendors/partners.
  • Compiles information on delivery quality (delivery errors, damage trends, scanning performance, reverse logistics schedule adherence) and identifies trends and outliers that need to be addressed and makes recommendations.
  • Understands the agreements in place with inbound and outbound logistics partners and to support parties in meeting their contractual and operational commitments.
  • Monitors key inbound and outbound indicators and develops action plans to drive efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
  • Periodic analysis of route performance to ensure consistent execution and maximization of efficiency without sacrificing time of delivery, accuracy of delivery, damage of parts and adherence to particular customer instructions.
  • Occasionally functions as a point of contact for customer escalations, and assists logistics manager in resolving delivery problems, day-to-day issues, and service recovery as needed.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to policies designed to ensure consistent high service performance and evaluates customer feedback to develop quality improvement processes.
  • Collaborates with PDC operations and DDS partner to develop, implement and monitor all action plans to ensure that service level requirements are met and operational processes are continually improved.
  • Participates in weekly status meetings and deliver presentations on results, trends, recommendations when required.
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures.
  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities. May participate in project or process improvement teams, some project management, and coordinate all support activities for assigned business unit and assigned customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred; minimum of five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience performing continuous improvement functions in a distribution center or warehouse preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the facility. The associate must be able to occasionally position themselves to retrieve parts from bottom shelf and top shelf, occasionally climb stairs to retrieve parts from the mezzanine level. The associate may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Associate will also be asked to travel to remote locations, as well as several out of state locations. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.

Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 10% of the time and on a domestic basis).
