SUMMARY:
The Portfolio Manager will work as a member of the commercial banking team. The Portfolio Manager will be assigned to work directly with key Commercial Bankers within the primary Markets covered by WesBanco. In this role, you will be responsible for Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and/or Commercial & Industrial (C&I) relationships. You will have the responsibility of managing a portfolio in excess of $100 million.

LOCATION:
This position is hybrid. The employee is split between remote and office work on a formalized schedule. Consideration for location will be Tennessee

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend meetings with Commercial Bankers to learn about borrowers/projects.

Prepares information request lists necessary to analyze new loan requests and assist with collection of this material with the borrower.

Coordinate underwriting and processing of new loan requests and modifications with Credit Risk Management.

Engage, coordinate and review third party reports (appraisal, environmental, inspection).

Prepare and coordinate Line of Credit annual renewals.

Prepare and coordinate annual relationship review.

Assist with coordination of loan closings including as liaison with outside attorneys and title companies.

Attend loan closings with or on behalf of Commercial Bankers.

Assist with clean-up and resolution of loan exceptions.

Maintain direct client contact to collect financial and other information and manage portfolio.

Monitor construction loans and advances in conjunction with Secured Credit Administration (CRE).

Analyze commercial construction draw packages submitted by commercial lending production areas for completion and accuracy and recommend approval or denial of requested draw amount. Specifically: receive, review and balance commercial construction draw documentation (budgets, inspection reports, title updates and lien wavers, etc.); review all documentation and disbursements to ensure all funds have been disbursed properly; and order project inspections and title updates and review both for compliance.

Ability to interface with customer on issues as they arise.

Monitor borrowing base certificates/AR agings and Line of Credit advances in conjunction with Secured Credit Administration (C&I).

Interface and coordinate activities with centralize funding.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the bank’s policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Must be competent with standard Microsoft Office packages.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance; or five years of related experience required.

Minimum of one year portfolio management, underwriting, commercial lending experience and/or a combination of one year portfolio management and two years underwriting or commercial lending experience.

Solid understanding of all aspects of commercial lending, documentation and servicing. Must be able to recognize what is missing or needed and be prepared to call the client independently.

Previous formal credit training or proven strong credit analysis skills, preferred.

Ability to coordinate and/or manage multiple projects in various stages simultaneously.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret Commercial Construction Loan documents including notes, mortgages and construction loan agreements.

Experience in analyzing financial statements from commercial clients to determine what is needed.

Experience in reviewing covenants to understand if the loan will be able to meet those covenants

Experience with commercial draw agreements and the ability to make independent decisions to determine if it is the correct draw amount and if not, must be able to call the client and explain the reasoning.

Must have experience working independently with the credit and underwriting personnel.
