Plan and conduct various recreation, leisure, and rehabilitative services through group and individual interventions that are directly linked to the person’s (patient) treatment plan goal and objectives. These rehabilitative interventions assist the hospital in demonstrating compliance to JACHO and CMH Standards of active treatment and Federal and State Standards of Care for Behavioral & Psychiatric Hospital Licensure.Provide individual and group on-campus experiences to prepare individuals for safe discharge to the community.Plan holiday and other special recreation programming, maintain equipment and supplies, document on individual’s progress toward patient treatment goals, supervise clients, and completes entries for treatment plan reviews.

Knowledge of: rules, regulations and strategies of sports and other recreational activities. As well as, principles, techniques and practices of recreational activities.Skill in: performing, planning, and organizing various sports, crafts, music, and other recreation/leisure activities; operating standard recreational equipment; leading recreational activities.Ability to: learn how to handle residents in all stages of their treatment; explain rules and regulations of sports and recreational activities in a positive manner; communicate effectively by giving instructions and documenting resident participation and behaviors; organize, direct, develop interest, and instruct residents in recreational activities; communicate effectively.
