Job Description

THE ROLE: Billing Administrator

  • This position will report to the: Engineering
  • Travel Requirement: None
  • Location: Bakersfield, CA
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hourly
  • Shift: M-F, 8AM-430pm
  • Employment Category: Full Time - Regular
  • Pay Range: $22-$28

This position will include multiple functions to support in the Engineering department. Candidate will be responsible for performing administrative functions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The responsibilities and requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Process Work Order labor hours into JDE
  • Assist in the WO closure process.
  • Assist in generating open work orders needed for facility/utility groups.
  • Capital labor hour entry for various departments, verify work orders are active and accurate.
  • Assist in maintaining Kronos time accounting (employee hours/sick time/vacation).
  • Review and process requisitions for capital projects: equipment, supplies and services.
  • Generate work orders needed for project costs and R&M expenses as required.
  • Reviews and approves all capital project requisitions submitted by other departments in order to verify accuracy and specifications for capital projects.
  • Manage engineering capital expenditure reports. Meets with engineers to review capital project spend vs budget.
  • Works closely with Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Receiving with invoice copy requests, tracking critical down payments, receiving discrepancies, etc.
  • Process capital project closures for Plant, AG and Corp.
  • Generate and review monthly departmental expense reports. Request reclasses if needed.
  • Review and process new vendor request with the Master Data Mgt department.
  • Assists Director and Engineers, as needed.
  • Manage office space, request repairs, service and order supplies as needed. Coordinate lunch meetings as requested.
  • Any other duty assigned by manager as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, use discretion, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs: Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • High school diploma / GED
  • Proactive attitude and strong organizational skills
  • Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in a team environment
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills required to accurately document, report, and present ideas and findings.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, use discretion, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word skills (JDE, ADP and Kronos are a plus)
  • Self-motivated, work independently and drive activities with team support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
