Pay Grade/Pay Range: 56 Hourly (non-exempt) - Minimum - $ 14.92 Midpoint - $ 21.78

Department/Organization: 212101 - Dean's Office-Education

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: Under limited supervision, performs basic professional accounting assignments requiring knowledge of accounting theory and principles.

Additional Department Summary: The Accounting Specialist provides post-award assistance to assigned departments, centers, faculty and staff, as well as the monitoring of awarded funds. Performs various document preparation, data management and accounting activities of medium to high complexity in support of the College’s contract and grant efforts.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; OR Associate's degree and two (2) years bookkeeping or accounting experience; OR Bachelor’s degree with some bookkeeping or accounting experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent writing, data management, bookkeeping, and critical thinking skills. Strong organizational skills. Evaluation and performance analysis skills. Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Ability to work independently using sound judgment and solid decision-making skills to solve complex problems and to work through barriers that may impact progress. Ability to track revenues and expenditures. Ability to work well with diverse populations of faculty, staff members, and other project stakeholders. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
