The Office of Business & Financial Services is responsible for Accounting Operations, Financial & Tax Reporting, Reconciliation, Investment Management and Accounting, Endowment Administration and Budget of the USF Foundation.

This position is responsible for the administration of debt and lease accounting, ACH Cash Gift monitoring and stock gift acceptance and computation of gains/losses on money markets, securities and stock. In addition, this position has general accounting and reconciliation duties and supports accounting functions within the operational areas reporting to the Foundation Controller.


Stock Gift and ACH Cash Gift account management - monitoring and reconciling account activity, recalculation of stock gain/loss using appropriate stock index, creating journal entries, researching gift information, communicating with Development to identify gift transactions, working with Deposits team and Central Records to ensure accurate gift processing for this gifts. Also facilitate wire transfers for accounts payable including currency conversion and international wires.

General accounting entries for fixed assets, depreciation, art objects, etc. including reconciliation and accruals on a monthly and quarterly basis. Prepare interim and year-end schedules including supporting documentation for audit purposes.

Debt, lease and internal loan management including invoicing units and preparation of schedules for the USF Foundation Finance Committee related to risk exposure. Ongoing accounting related to subscription-based technology agreements, identification, review of agreements, creation of amortization schedules, and related accounting entries for asset/liability/deferred inflows.

Assist Associate Director and Accounting Manager with various reconciliation responsibilities including analysis of investment partnership statements comparison of audited to unaudited and recalculation of investment ownership percentages. Manage escheated check analysis, coordination with university units and accounts payable to void and reissue. Ensure all unclaimed property is remitted to the State.

Support accounting duties in operational areas reporting to the Asst. Vice President and Controller for special projects or as volume requires.

Completes various national and higher education surveys for the Foundation and other duties as assigned.


This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and one year of related experience, or a Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (with appropriate Accounting preparation and coursework.) The bachelor's degree is a minimum educational requirement for this position, and cannot be waived.

Experience in accounting office setting.

Excellent Excel skills, good communication skills - verbal and email, strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
