Are you a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a passion for finance and accounting? Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Accountant and play a pivotal role in managing our well-established client's accounts. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for a range of financial tasks, contributing to the successful delivery of budgets, reporting, and forecasting. This exciting opportunity allows you to work remotely with occasional travel as needed.

Assistant Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, providing valuable insights into the company's operations on a periodic basis.
  • Support Finance Managers in delivering annual budgets and customer forecasts, ensuring the financial stability of the projects.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth collaboration and efficient operations.
  • Generate weekly and periodic customer reports, offering valuable information for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and non-financial metrics to support service delivery and contractual commitments.
  • Handle nominal ledger tasks, including processing journals, nominal ledger cross charges, and period-end reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Take charge of monthly invoicing and payroll reconciliations to ensure timely and precise financial transactions.
  • Act as the right-hand person to the Finance Manager, providing support for ad-hoc requests from internal and external parties.
  • Assist in day-to-day operational activities and general administrative duties to maintain smooth financial operations.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrable expertise in accounting and finance, with a good working knowledge of accounts being essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, showcasing your ability to excel in financial management.
  • Studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset, driving performance improvements and efficiency within teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial controls.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly strong Excel skills.
